MOD Police

The Ministry of Defence Police is the MOD’s own dedicated civilian police force of around 3,500 officers with full constabulary powers. We operate at government locations throughout the UK, wherever our services are required. Our role is to apply constabulary powers and civil police training to combat the principal risks of crime and disorder faced by the Ministry of Defence.

The MDP also contributes significantly to International Peacekeeping missions as directed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Her Majesty’s Government.

There are three MOD Police Officers stationed in Dorset. PC Gale is responsible for RM Poole and the surrounding area. The other two officers serve at Blandford and Bovington.
